Treatment Failure or Patient Failure: Language is Everything Print E-mail

When we as healthcare professionals decide that a treatment is not working, the language we choose to describe that failure is crucial. Often, doctors and nurses alike will state that a patient "has failed treatment". When we honestly think about it, isn't it more truthful to state that the treatment actually "failed" the patient instead?
