While I am somewhat cynical about any politician, I am feeling hopeful---yes, hopeful---about the possibilities of an Obama presidency. While he may talk about the War on Terror and other such hawkish things, I also feel that he may very well deliver some form of healthcare reform that will insure more Americans than have ever had coverage before. I am, however, very disappointed that he never mentions the nursing shortage in his plans and policies.
I won't hold my breath to see if he really fulfills his campaign promises, but I will hold onto that little piece of hope that rests in my heart.

Barack for President!

I agree - totally! George Bush has done nothing for our country except alienate us from the rest of the world, sent thousands of our brave young men and women to war on the most feeble of reasons and he has destroyed the perfectly good economy built by Bill Clinton.
Apart from anything else, Barack's plan to provide health insurance to millions of our fellow-Americans who cannot afford the ridiculous charges levied by the big insurance companies, is something we all know is much needed. I've never been political before, in fact (I'm ashamed to say) I've never even bothered to vote in the past, agreeing with Sunny that it really does'nt matter who you vote for. However, THIS TIME I fervently hope that Barack will restore our nation on all fronts. My opinion is that Barack is totally honest and in tune with us all. He gets my vote (for the fist time). Steve.

Yes, hope and cynicism

Sunny,
I try to hope, but my cynicism about politicians is so very strong. While I want Obama to win, I won't hold my breath, and assume that he too will get eaten alive ---and somewhat corrupted---by the system in Washington, and by the machinations of Power. Still, I hope, and hope some more, and then worry.

I too, wish Obama to win. However, this isn't going to happen unless everyone who wants him to win votes. The right wing conservatives are up at arms and will be out by the millions to vote for McCain.
