Do hospitals reimburse employees for BSN expenses?

Do you mean going back to school for a BSN? Some employers have programs where they will pay for you to advance your education if you sign a contract to work a certain number of years after earning your degree. If you renege on that agreement, you will then have to reimburse them for the cost of your education. Many hospitals seem to be offering some incentives for nurses to go back to school.

I agree with Keith. Ask your employer. Many employers want and need their workers to pursue education, and are willing to pay for it.

My hospital has an agreement with a local university for an RN-BSN program. Not only do they pay for it (up to the legal $5250 per year limit without paying taxes on it) they also provide a classroom on the hospital campus for the program...

On top of that, there is a (albeit rather small) bump in pay for obtaining your BSN...

That has resulted in an amazing number of my co-workers returning to school for their BSN (myself included). I found I enjoyed the experience so much that I have continued, and am working towards my Master's now...

Wow, that is a generous program. Do the students then have to work a certain number of years at the hospital?

Every time they disperse a check, you have to sign an agreement to work one year from that date, or else repay the amount...

Incredibly generous... one of the reasons we are a Magnet facility...
